INTREP360 Quick Take: President Trump’s Truth Social Post

There is a lot to unpack in President Donald Trump’s latest Truth Social post.

What he said:

· Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form.

· With time, patience, and the financial support of Europe and, in particular, NATO, the original Borders from where this War started, is very much an option.

· Ukraine would be able to take back their Country in its original form and, who knows, maybe even go further than that!

· Putin and Russia are in BIG Economic trouble, and this is the time for Ukraine to act.

· I wish both Countries well. We will continue to supply weapons to NATO for NATO to do what they want with them.

What he did not say:

· Putin is the ‘root cause’ of the war in Ukraine and the on-going Hybrid war against the West.

· The United States, as a member nation of NATO, will support Ukraine directly with intelligence, critical weapons sytems, ammuntion, and logistics to support their fight to win back their country.

· He will sign the Sanctioning Russia Act of 2025, authored by Senator Sen. Graham, Lindsey (R-SC), into law to expedite the economic collapse of Russia.

What you can reasonably take away from the post:

· This is a European problem; the U.S. will not support Ukraine directly.

· The U.S. will watch from the sidelines.

· The U.S. will profit from the war by selling weapons to NATO, which will then be provided to Ukraine.

· He does not to want to do anything directly that would facilitate the collapse of the Russian economy.

Trump is signaling he is done with the war in Ukraine. He is frustrated that he cannot get Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to stop resisiting, nor can he get Russia President Vladimir Putin to stop attacking. He wishes both countries well, and will simply deal with the outcome.
